Training sections on short distances (10 to 20
Kms) caused heavy loss in the colonies of the World
Championship and of the World Race. The training at GELLAINVILLE of the 18th July
2002 of 170 Kms caused the loss of 239 of the 522 pigeons
enroled.
Pigeons remaining in the loft,
after the 17 July training session:
- World Championship,
128 pigeons
- World race, 155 pigeons
Since that day, other pigeons went back. The official
list of the remaining pigeons will be published during
the next official training session 5, 6 or 7 August 2002,
depending of the weather conditions.
Il be informed of it the day before the training session.
Following to the control of the lofts of the colombodrome,
last 18 July, planned a long time ago and decided by the
national board of administration on the 26th June, we
thought of certain measures to turn things right.
Amongst the decisions taken by the F.C.F, for the pigeons of the World Championship:
- Cancellation of the
training session planned at BLOIS ± 300 Kms and POITIERS
± 400 Kms.
- The final release location planned at BORDEAUX ± 600
Kms is replaced by RUFFEC 452 Kms.
The official distance of the World Championship being 500
Kms ± 10 percent, RUFFEC is also an official distance
and a mythic place known by every fancier.
Afterwards, it has been decided that the management
of the two colonies would be made separetly:
- for the World Championship, by the Fédération Colombophile Française
- for the Worldwide Race by Michel VADUREL, President of the COOF (French Committee for the Organization of the Olympiads).

09:00: Enrolement/race marking of the young pigeons for the World Championship.
09:30: Departure from the Hotel NOVOTEL/Lille.
11:00: Visit of the COLOMBODROME.
12:00: Welcome Meal at "LA FLAMICHE"
Restaurant.
16:00 to 19:00: Arrival of the young pigeons of
the Worldwide Race.
21:00: Friendly meal at the Hotel NOVOTEL/Lille.
17 August:
9:30: Departure from the
Hotel NOVOTEL/Lille.
11:00: Aunction of the best pigeons of the
Worldwide Race.
13:00: Welcome of the official delegations and
country meal.
14:00: Arrival of the World Championship.
19:00 to 21:00: Country meal with music under a
big top.
18 August:
09:30 :
Departure from the Hotel NOVOTEL/Lille
10:00 : Following of the sales of the young
pigeons of the Worldwide Race.
12:00 : Rewards.
13:00: Closure dinner.
